Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory Nurse New

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Cath Lab RN for a travel assignment in a fast-paced Cardiac Catheterization Lab. This nurse will be responsible for delivering excellent care throughout the perioperative continuum for patients undergoing cardiac catheterization and interventional procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Patient Assessment & Clinical Skills

• Perform systematic and thorough assessments.
• Deliver patient care appropriate to all age groups (Pediatrics to Geriatrics).
• Demonstrate proficiency with emergency procedures and equipment.

2. Documentation & Education

• Complete accurate and timely documentation.
• Educate patients and families before and after procedures.
• Evaluate patient understanding and coordinate ongoing education.

3. Safety & Compliance

• Adhere to National Patient Safety Goals and Universal Protocol.
• Use proper body mechanics and safe patient transfer techniques.
• Maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.

4. Team Collaboration & Professionalism

• Work closely with interdisciplinary teams to provide patient-centered care.
• Maintain professionalism in all interactions.
• Take responsibility for ongoing clinical and professional development.

5. Cath Lab & PAT-Specific Duties

• Demonstrate expertise in cardiac procedures, anesthesia types, and recovery needs.
• Assess and complete Pre-Admission Testing (PAT) requirements.
• Prioritize patient care based on acuity and changes in condition.

Requirements:

• License: Active RN license – Required
• Experience: Minimum 2 years of critical care nursing – Required
• Certifications:
• BLS – Required
• ACLS – Required

Education:

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
• Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
